Hi Diddley Ho Neighbouroonies

Hi All,

Since last October I have been tapping away manically here to share Serendipity Farm with all of my constant readers. I started it as a way to share what we were doing mainly with my mum. She died in January this year and it makes me smile to think that she got more out of this blog than I could have ever anticipated. She is still third on my "most comments" list and she might be gone, but she is certainly not forgotten. I have enjoyed the last 7 months of blogging despite initially balking at the idea of having to set up a Wordpress account. Wordpress and I have had a somewhat cordial agreement where I will give them another regular blog to list and they will give me space and the ability to share various forms of media with my readers. Recently Wordpress decided that they were going to dump their non fee paying bloggers into a sea of formaldihyde and preserve them, stunned and unwarned as victems of their desire to make more profit.

We free bloggers who make up the under sea equivalent of an iceburg are left dazed and wondering what happened as we are no longer able to access help with our blogs and many of the features that we previously enjoyed are now only available to paying bloggers. Even simple actions like "Post to Facebook" appear to be something that Wordpress will no longer do for their free bloggers and so I made the difficult decision to move. The Road to Serendipity has reached a fork in the road. I have chosen to take the road less travelled and head on down to Blogspot central. It appears blogspot blogs tend to be a bit less mainstream and a whole lot quirkier than Wordpress blogs and you know what? It feels like coming home! The fork in the road leads me to say "Fork You!" Wordpress...I don't need your kind of "assistance" any more and "Hi-diddley-ho" Blogspot...my new home of choice. We have decided to change the format of our blog a bit. No more idealistic whistful fantasy page, now we are seasoned bloggers we actually designed a picture on Adobe Illustrator cs4 even though we have NO idea how to use it! My dear constant readers are worth the effort.

I have completely and totally appreciated each and every one of you. I even appreciate my spam! I love to read all about how someone out there feels that my blog is worth spamming and just how they plan on luring me to hit "allow" on their weird comments. I would hope beyond hope that all of my constant followers will follow Steve and I to The Odo Life where we both plan on sharing a blog, finding out all sorts of weird and wonderful things and sharing them with you. The Odo Life will give you more sustainability, quirky observations about the world that we live in, Serendipity Farm as we transition from 20 years of neglect to a future of sustainability and our adventures in learning how to apply our horticultural training to the newfound wonders of earth bagging, home steading and learning from the past to effect our own more environmentally sustainable futures. I would like to share some of my foundation recipes with hints and tips about household living and cooking and making things including crafts. Steve would like to be able to occasionally share a few things with you all but is easily disallusioned with blogging and so a corner of The Odo Life will be reserved especially for him and his musical musings.

Anyhoo...this is our first post on the blog. We are still learning the intricacies of BlogSpot but love the new format and what we can do with it. Hopefully it is our new "Forever Home" and we won't be returning to WordPress with our tail between our legs any day soon. We are excited about sharing all sorts of "other" things with you and if you check out the top of the page, you will note all sorts of pages that The Road to Serendipity didn't have. Technology...thy name is Steve ;) Together we hope to amuse, entertain and enlighten you all with what we have been able to find for you. Sit back, put on your 3D glasses and get ready to ride the rollercoaster that is The Odo Life! (Sick bags on the rail in front of you...)
